Ma Lin (born 19 February 1980 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province) is a former Chinese table tennis player and coach. She is now the head coach of the Chinese Women’s Table Tennis Team.
Known as “Mr. World Cup”, Ma Lin is the first man in table tennis history to win four World Cup men’s singles titles (2000, 2003, 2004, 2006) and the first Olympic table tennis doubles (2004), singles (2008) and team (2008). He is also the seventh champion of the Chinese Table Tennis Super League. They say “He who wins the sea wins the world”. However, it is a pity that he failed to win the singles championship of the World Championship in his career and missed the Grand Slam of table tennis singles. The coach is Zeng Jianheng, and the coach of the national team is Wu Jingping.
Ma began to play at the age of seven, was selected to the professional team at 13, was selected to the National second team in February 1994, and was selected to the national first team in 1996. He is good at holding the racket straight with his right hand, and he plays the forehand with a lethal blast circle combined with the straight racket. Right hand straight reverse glue fast attack combined with the circle type of play, is a passionate player, playing fierce, stable psychological state. He has won the World Cup men’s singles champion three times, becoming the absolute main force of the Chinese men’s team after Kong Linghui and Liu Guoliang. His signature move is to rotate his racket frequently during matches. In 2004, he won the gold medal in men’s doubles at the Athens Olympic Games.

Ma married his girlfriend Zhang Yaqing on December 8, 2013. At the wedding ceremony, Ma officially announced her retirement from the military.
