Southgate: “Our first priority has always been to qualify for the Euros. The way we played in the group stage has put us in a good position. Hopefully we can play well and win the game and if it’s a draw after 87 minutes, we don’t need to put the ball in the box.”

“We don’t have a winter break here, so we’ve made some adjustments, the players are in good shape and the medical science support is good. I just want to repeat what I said before, which is that we are constantly adding games, but not cancelling any games. The Club World Cup is a huge challenge for the club and we are always focused on the well-being of our players and want the best players to play in the most important matches. We would never put a player at risk, we have a good relationship with the clubs on the medical side and they trust us and give us their players.”
