[Saba Sports News] Ben Stokes is widely acknowledged as one of the most exceptional all-rounders in the history of cricket, while Liam Livingstone is renowned for his destructive prowess as a batsman. Currently, they are in India as part of the England team competing in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Stokes recently recounted a harrowing experience from one of their autorickshaw journeys, accompanied by Liam Livingstone and England’s strength and conditioning coach, Andy Mitchell, when a white car narrowly avoided colliding with their tuk-tuk.
Stokes humorously noted, “Livi [Liam Livingstone] and I are quite substantial individuals, and our strength and conditioning coach, Mitch [Andy Mitchell], is even larger. Tuk-tuks, as you might know, aren’t particularly spacious vehicles. So, you can imagine that we were rather cramped in the back of that tuk-tuk. Here’s the video I captured on my phone… We were approaching the roundabout, and that car just didn’t slow down. There it goes!” Stokes shared.
England’s performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 hasn’t been stellar thus far, with only one victory in the four matches they’ve played. Stokes missed the initial three games due to a hip issue but returned for England’s most recent match against South Africa, albeit not performing to his usual standards.
On Thursday, October 26, in Bengaluru, England faces Sri Lanka in a pivotal match, with potential do-or-die implications, given the struggles both teams have encountered in the tournament. Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone featured in the first three games but was omitted from the lineup for the clash against South Africa.
Despite being favored to win against Sri Lanka, the current edition of this prestigious event has already witnessed several unexpected outcomes, and Sri Lanka could become the latest team to spring a surprising upset.
