[Saba Sports News] The scandal involving Serie A
players and gambling continues to unfold. Recent reports from Italian media
reveal that former Juventus player Leonardo Bonucci was aware of his former
teammate Nicolo Fagioli’s involvement in gambling. However, Bonucci did not
report the matter. According to sports regulations, Juventus’ statement alone
may not be sufficient, as all club members are obligated to immediately notify
the relevant authorities upon learning of players’ engagement in football
betting activities. This implies that Bonucci may face disciplinary action if
he fails to report the incident, resulting in a suspension of no less than 6
months and a fine ranging from 100 to 15,000 euros.
