[Saba Sports News] Chelsea have acquired a 1.2-acre
plot of land near Stamford Bridge from the Storr Foundation for £80 million as
part of their £2 billion expansion project. However, this purchase has
necessitated the relocation of 100 families, including veterans, who resided in
the area. Although these families will receive a legal compensation of £7,800
for the loss of their homes, they believe the compensation amount is
insufficient and strongly oppose Chelsea’s demolition plan. Essentially, the
property owner has sold the houses, but the tenants are unwilling to vacate. In
response, Chelsea have initiated further negotiations with the tenants and has
made a commitment not to commence construction before 2025.
