[Saba Sports News] During the Coppa Italia match in
February 2021, Antonio Conte, who was the coach of Inter at the time, made
headlines when he directed a middle finger gesture towards the former Juventus
chairman, Andrea Agnelli, and engaged in a heated argument with him. In a
recent TV show appearance, Conte addressed the incident where he showed the
middle finger to Agnelli. Conte stated that he did so in response to what he
perceived as disrespect, impoliteness, and a series of insults directed towards
him. He expressed that he does not regret his actions because the other party
did not show any remorse either. However, Conte mentioned that he and Agnelli
subsequently had a conversation to clear the air. Despite the incident, Conte
did not rule out the possibility of returning to coach Juventus in the future.
He emphasised that successful partnerships, including coaching roles, require
efforts from both parties. Conte also acknowledged that managing Juventus comes
with its challenges due to the team’s status as both a target for opponents and
a subject of animosity throughout Italy.
