[Saba Sports News] Recently, it was reported that
football player Alejandro Gomez has been issued a first-instance verdict by the
Spanish Anti-Doping Commission. As a result, Gomez has been banned from
participating in professional football activities for the next two years. The
commission found traces of terbutaline, a drug used to treat bronchospasm, in
Gomez’s test sample. The ingestion of the substance was deemed involuntary.
It’s worth noting that Gomez represented Argentina in the World Cup held in
Qatar, where his team emerged as the champions. During the tournament, Gomez
played in two matches, starting in the group stage against Saudi Arabia and the
Round of 16 against Australia, accumulating a total of 109 minutes on the
field.
