[Saba Sports News] On Day 4 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed missed a straightforward run-out chance of Virat Kohli.
Kohli was well out of his crease, seemingly giving up as Ahmed collected the ball with plenty of time to knock the stumps.
However, instead of simply dislodging the bails, Ahmed aimed for the stumps and missed from close range. The Bangladesh team was stunned while Kohli quickly made it back to safety.
Rishabh Pant, at the non-striker’s end, hugged Kohli, both in disbelief at the missed chance.
Later, while fielding in the slips during Bangladesh’s innings, Kohli humorously mimicked Ahmed’s blunder, causing Pant, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul to burst into laughter. Gill even joined in, reenacting the missed run-out.
Kohli contributed 47 runs as India built a lead of 52 runs. In Bangladesh’s second innings, India’s bowlers dominated, with Bumrah, Jadeja, and Ashwin taking three wickets each, and Akash Deep grabbing one, bowling out Bangladesh for 146.
Chasing just 95 runs, India cruised to a seven-wicket win. Despite early dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal played a vital knock of 51 off 45 balls, forging a key partnership with Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 29.
India sealed the series 2-0 and will now face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series.
