[Saba Sports News] Indian cricket stars Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to the renowned Lord Balaji Temple in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. On a Friday, the dynamic cricketers were spotted dressed in traditional religious attire after completing their ‘pooja’ ceremony. They were surrounded by an eager crowd of fans seeking handshakes and selfies with their cricket heroes.
Rishabh Pant has been on a path to recovery since a car accident in December, which left him with severe burns and a significant ligament tear. His injuries were extensive, including a severe issue with his right knee that required ligament reconstruction surgery. He underwent the surgery in Mumbai in February 2023 under the care of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. Currently, he is diligently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Versatile all-rounder Axar Patel had to give up his spot in India’s 15-player lineup for the ODI World Cup 2023 due to a left quadriceps strain. Initially named in the preliminary squad, Patel’s absence made way for the seasoned spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The 29-year-old sustained the injury during India’s Super 4 match against Bangladesh in September at the 2023 Asia Cup, just a month before the start of the World Cup.
Rishabh Pant’s Temple Visits Amidst His Recovery Journey On October 3, Rishabh Pant embarked on a spiritual journey to the Badrinath temple, nestled in the Himalayas. Pant made a stylish entrance via helicopter and received a warm welcome from the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, local cricket enthusiasts, youth, and devoted pilgrims.
Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar accompanied him on this sacred journey. The temple committee’s media liaison, Harish Gaur, revealed that after visiting Lord Vishnu’s abode, the Uttarakhand batter extended his reverence to various temples within the Badrinath temple precinct.
Additionally, he sought the blessings of the temple’s head priest, Rawal Ishwar Prasad Namboodiri, in a heartfelt display of deep spiritual devotion.
