[Saba Sports News] Speculation about Rishabh Pant’s future with Delhi Capitals (DC) has finally been laid to rest. Recent reports confirm that the Indian wicketkeeper-batter will remain with DC for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
For months, rumors swirled about a potential move to other teams like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). However, DC has made it clear that Pant is staying put, securing him with a hefty deal and silencing talks of his departure.
Cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has also weighed in, dismissing rumors of Pant leaving DC. Chopra emphasized the importance of retaining Pant, particularly ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, praising Delhi’s decision to hold onto their star player.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, “Rishabh Pant is not going anywhere.” He addressed the speculations about Pant joining PBKS, especially with former DC coach Ricky Ponting now associated with Punjab.
He also touched on the rumors linking Pant to CSK due to his fondness for the franchise and MS Dhoni. However, Chopra confirmed that Pant will remain with DC, thanks to a substantial contract extension.
Encouraging Pant to focus on leading Delhi Capitals to their first IPL title, Chopra concluded by saying, “You stay there and make Delhi the champions. Delhi hasn’t won anything since their Ranji Trophy victory in 2007-08.”
