[Saba Sports News] On Saturday, Jordan Poole found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The Washington Wizards’ guard unintentionally became an early contender for Shaqtin’-a-Fool.
During the first quarter of the Wizards’ weekend clash with the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, Poole attempted to emulate the shooting style of Steph Curry. However, not everyone possesses the shooting prowess of the Golden State Warriors’ superstar.
Curry is renowned for his three-point shooting and trademark move of turning around before the ball even hits the net, displaying unwavering confidence in his shot. In a bid to replicate this move, Poole tried it out midway through the first quarter against the Grizzlies, but the attempt did not go as planned.
Instead of seeing the ball swish through the net, the 24-year-old ended up facing the Grizzlies’ bench as his shot clanged off the rim. This humorous moment did not do any favors for Poole, who was looking to bounce back from a challenging 2022-23 season with the Golden State Warriors.
Despite this memorable gaffe, Poole had a solid debut for the Wizards earlier in the week, scoring 18 points and dishing out 5 assists on 7-of-18 shooting against the Indiana Pacers.
