[Saba Sports News] It appears that Karl-Anthony Towns has an admirer from another NBA conference. According to Stefan Bondy’s report in the New York Daily News, the New York Knicks are closely monitoring the situation of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ star player, Towns. Bondy also noted that Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau, who previously coached Towns in Minnesota, is open to the idea of coaching the seven-footer once again.
Towns, currently 27 years old, has a contract with the Timberwolves that extends at least until 2027, as he signed a new supermax extension with the team in the summer of 2022.
However, there is speculation that Towns, who has yet to win a playoff series in his nine seasons with Minnesota, may become dissatisfied and potentially request a trade in the near future.
Recent moves by the Timberwolves have only added fuel to the trade rumors surrounding Towns.
While rumors of the Knicks’ interest should be taken with caution, as they are frequently linked to superstar players, it does seem that they have an appealing setup for Towns, particularly with Thibodeau as coach and a notable former Minnesota executive now with the team.
