[Saba Sports News] Kevin Durant had to shoulder the scoring burden for the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, and he may find himself in the same situation this Saturday due to the latest injury updates concerning Bradley Beal and Devin Booker.
The Suns have announced that Beal will remain sidelined for the team’s home opener against the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Beal had already missed the team’s first two games due to a lingering back problem.
Additionally, the team’s injury report suggests that Booker is likely to remain doubtful for the upcoming contest due to left foot soreness. In the previous game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, Booker was unavailable due to the same issue.
Durant played a total of 39 minutes against the Lakers without his two star teammates and managed to score 39 points, albeit in a losing effort. In the 100-95 defeat at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, no other Suns player scored more than 15 points.
It’s worth noting that Booker appeared to injure his foot late in the fourth quarter of the Suns’ first game against the Golden State Warriors. He came to an abrupt stop in front of Warriors center Kevon Looney and appeared to step awkwardly on his left foot.
Despite this, Booker had an impressive game-high 32 points in the Suns’ 108-104 victory against the Warriors.
