[Saba Sports News] In his latest advertisement, LeBron James may have hinted at his future plans. The Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar featured in a newly-released commercial for Beats By Dre this week, sharing it on his official social media page. The ad also featured European soccer star Erling Haaland from England’s Manchester City.
One specific line from the commercial garnered significant attention. James’ wife, Savannah, also made an appearance in the ad and delivered a message to her husband: ‘Tell them you’re not finished until you’ve played with your son. Then do it again.’ The commercial included footage of both of James’ sons, 19-year-old Bronny and 16-year-old Bryce, while Savannah spoke.
It’s widely known that James, at 38, hopes to continue playing in the NBA long enough to share the court with his son Bronny, who will be eligible for the NBA Draft next year and appears poised to pursue a basketball career following a cardiac arrest scare during the summer. However, it’s a more ambitious goal for James to extend his career to the point where he can also play alongside his younger son, Bryce.
Bryce won’t be draft-eligible until 2026, by which time James would be approaching 42 years old and entering his 24th NBA season, surpassing the current record held by Vince Carter, who played for 22 seasons.
Nonetheless, it remains a commendable objective for the four-time NBA MVP, LeBron James, who has faced some injury setbacks in recent years but continues to showcase brilliance when he steps onto the court, as evident from his impressive statistics last season (averaging 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists per game). There are promising signs that Bryce may be worth the wait.
