[Saba Sports News] According to “The Sun,”
Oxford United, a team competing in the English League One, is planning to spend
£100 million on the development of a new stadium. The club’s current contract
with the Kassam Stadium, which they currently use, is set to expire in 2026.
Despite numerous rounds of negotiations, both parties have failed to reach an
agreement for contract renewal. Consequently, Oxford United have made the
decision to construct a new stadium in the Kidlington area. As part of the
plan, a 180-bed hotel, restaurant, and conference centre will be built adjacent
to the stadium. Additionally, the club intends to establish a community square
that will incorporate a new club shop. The CEO of Oxford United mentioned that
the current Kassam Stadium has three stands, whereas the future home stadium
will feature four stands.
