[Saba Sports News] The Pakistan National Cricket Team has made several changes to their squad for the first Test against England. Led by Shan Masood, the team has added two players as reserves and included one new player in the main squad.
Pakistan will host England for a three-match Test series next month, with the first match scheduled from October 7 to 11 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. This series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Two days ago, Pakistan announced their squad for the first Test, which closely resembles the squad from their recent Test series against Bangladesh. However, notable absentees from this lineup are Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali, who were part of the Bangladesh series but missed out on selection for this one.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) explained that both players remain in consideration but were left out due to a lack of available spots. They were advised to continue playing in domestic competitions like the Champions Cup and President’s Cup.
Shortly after, however, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali were included as reserves. According to reports, the duo will keep playing domestic cricket and will be called upon if needed for the first Test against England.
In addition, leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood has also been added to the squad and will join the team in the pre-match camp starting October 1.
Updated Pakistan squad for 1st Test against England:
