Sports News] According to a report from Sabasports, Colombian star James
Rodriguez discussed his retirement plans in a recent interview with the media.
He mentioned that his intention is to participate in the World Cup that will be
held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Rodriguez expressed his desire
to retire after one major tournament and bid farewell to the fans while being a
part of an excellent team. He emphasized the importance of making the most of
the next three years, which could potentially mark the final stage of his
career. Rodriguez stated that he wants to retire on his own terms and leave
football with dignity, rather than being forced out by the sport. Although he
isn’t certain yet, he is already contemplating his retirement and hopes to choose
an appropriate time to conclude his playing career. However, he hasn’t ruled
out the possibility of playing for another year or two if he feels physically
and mentally fit. Rodriguez, who is currently 32 years old, has participated in
over 600 games, scoring 166 goals and providing 188 assists throughout his
career. He has also won a total of 25 championship trophies. Presently,
Rodriguez plays for Sao Paulo, Brazil, and his player contract is set to expire
at the end of this year.
