[Saba Sports News] The Miami Heat found themselves in a whirlwind of trade rumors during the offseason, with names like Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, and Jrue Holiday swirling in the mix. After their unexpected journey to the NBA Finals last season, the Heat were eager to enhance their roster and capitalize on their momentum. However, their attempts to secure these high-profile players fell through, leaving them with a roster similar to the previous season, with a few minor additions.
Tyler Herro’s name had been circulating in trade talks involving the Heat for some time. Yet, when it came to Bradley Beal, it appears the team favored retaining Herro. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Heat assessed the situation and concluded that Bradley Beal, who is seven years older than Tyler Herro, wasn’t worth the $30 million difference in their future potential.
Instead of joining the Heat, Bradley Beal was ultimately traded to the Phoenix Suns. Tyler Herro remains under contract with the Heat until the 2026-27 season, with a deal worth $33 million. In contrast, during that same season, Beal will earn around $57 million with the Suns.
In the previous season, Tyler Herro averaged 20.1 points per game, along with 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists, showcasing shooting percentages of 43.9% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc, and an impressive 93.4% from the free-throw line.
Comparatively, Bradley Beal averaged 23.2 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists, with shooting percentages of 50.6% from the field, 36.5% from three-point range, and 84.2% from the free-throw line.
