[Saba Sports News] In a recent development, Bangladesh’s captain Shakib Al Hasan has taken an unconventional approach to reviving his form during the ongoing ICC World Cup. While the rest of the team has traveled to Kolkata for their upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Pakistan, Shakib has chosen to return to Dhaka and engage in training sessions with his mentor, Nazmul Abedeen Faheem.
This decision has raised eyebrows, given Shakib’s recent struggles on the field, which have coincided with Bangladesh’s poor performance in the tournament, leaving them at the bottom of the points table.
Faheem has disclosed that Shakib arrived in Dhaka, and they will work together for three days before he returns to Kolkata. Their primary focus during these training sessions is on batting, with rigorous throwdowns in the nets playing a pivotal role.
“He arrived today. We will be training for three days – today, tomorrow, and the day after – and then he will return to Kolkata. We primarily worked on his batting today,” Faheem shared.
