[Saba Sports News] The F1 Guangzhou International
Circuit has made significant strides in its development. According to reports
from various reputable media sources, the Guangzhou government has chosen to
establish the headquarters of the racing circuit in Huadu District, with a
staggering total investment of US$2.763 billion. As part of this project, an
international racing theme park spanning 5,000 acres will be constructed. The
park will feature a track designed to meet the international first-class
standards set by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), as well
as a car brand experience center, car movie park, car museum, e-sports
facilities, car competitions, testing and inspection facilities, motels, and
collaborative projects in creative design. Many car enthusiasts have raised
questions about why Huadu District was chosen over Nansha District. There are
several reasons for this decision. Firstly, Huadu District, located in the
north of Guangzhou, is experiencing rapid growth and development. It boasts
multiple transportation hubs, including Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou
International Port, and Guangzhou North Railway Station, making it a crucial
gateway connecting domestic and international destinations. Considering that F1
heavily relies on logistics and transportation, establishing a racing track in
Huadu District can significantly reduce transportation costs. Secondly, in
February of this year, Huadu District held the “Bay Area Auto Park &
Auto Modification Industry Base Project Strategic Cooperation Signing
Event” with the aim of establishing the country’s first automotive sports
aftermarket industrial base. Representatives from the FIA World Track Cross
Country Championship were invited to the event, expressing their interest in
Guangzhou becoming one of the organizers for the championship. This
demonstrates that Huadu District possesses geographical advantages and a solid
industrial foundation. The only missing element is an internationally
recognized first-class track certified by the FIA.
