[Saba Sports News] On Friday, April 26, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended their four-game losing streak by setting a record in men’s T20 cricket, chasing down a target of 262 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, winning with eight wickets in hand.
Celebrating the victory, the team indulged in Mishti Doi, a famous Bengali sweet, as shown in a video on their official social media. Arshdeep Singh and Harpreet Brar were highlighted enjoying the treat, amidst a spread of other dishes and the soundtrack of the popular ‘Jatt don’t care’ song, a locker room favorite since last year.
Despite the aggressive batting from KKR, who set a daunting score of 261/6 led by half-centuries from Phil Salt and Sunil Narine, PBKS’s Rahul Chahar managed to be the standout bowler, taking Narine’s crucial wicket and conceding just 33 runs.
In response, PBKS’s opening batsman Prabhsimran Singh’s swift 54 off 20 balls and Jonny Bairstow’s commanding 108 not out off 48 balls, along with Shashank Singh’s rapid 68 not out, propelled PBKS to a historic victory, marking the highest run-chase in the format and securing the win with two balls to spare.
