[Saba Sports News] During Thursday’s Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans game, veteran sportscaster Kevin Harlan experienced a unique broadcasting moment. As the Pelicans led 134-123 with less than a minute remaining at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, an unusual incident occurred.
After Zion Williamson was fouled by Kings’ Keegan Murray, a Kings fan seized the pause in play to hurl a cooked chicken wing onto the court at halfcourt.
Harlan, known for his engaging commentary, didn’t miss a beat, exclaiming, “Somebody’s thrown something on the floor … It’s a chicken wing! Why would someone throw something that good out on the floor? It’s crispy, it’s warm. … I’m so hungry. What’s that guy [doing]? I hope he eats it,” referring humorously to the staff member removing the wing.
Renowned for his animated calls, particularly during unexpected events in games, Harlan shines in capturing the essence of peculiar and significant sports moments. Although best known for his NBA and NFL coverage, including memorable calls of on-field streakers, it’s moments like these that truly highlight Harlan’s distinctive style.
