[Saba Sports News] MS Dhoni’s impact on cricket and his status as a cultural icon are well-recognized. The former Indian captain’s influence was a topic of conversation at a recent event in Hyderabad for the animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’. When asked about a noticeable resemblance between the series’ protagonist Amarendra Baahubali and Dhoni, director SS Rajamouli acknowledged it with a smile. “The resemblance may be because the character’s creators, like myself, are fans of Dhoni,” Rajamouli responded to a question about the similarity.
The Baahubali franchise, helmed by Rajamouli, has been a groundbreaking success in Indian cinema since its first release in 2015, redefining box office expectations and cinematic presentation.
In the cricketing world, Dhoni’s team, CSK, is currently third in the IPL 2024 standings, with 12 points from 11 games. Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, they recently secured a 28-run victory over Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. Their next match is against Gujarat Titans on May 10 in Ahmedabad.
Dhoni, who is participating in IPL 2024, might be playing his final season. To date, he has scored 110 runs across nine innings in this season’s league.
